Creation of smaller states

Sir,
The green signal given by the UPA Government for creation of Telengana has opened a Pandora’s box with more political outfits demanding creation of separate states for them.
The most important political fallout of  this announcement will be in other states like West Bengal, Uttar Pardesh and Assam.
The propounders of Gorkhaland, Bodoland Vidarbha, Harit Pardesh have started clamouring for separate political units.
If the  trend of carving new states  continues the nation may end wherefrom it started its course as an independent nation after gaining freedom in 1947. There were more than 600 princely independent states ruled by Kings and Queens in 1947. The unification process initiated by the  then Government and executed by the then Home Minister of India Sardar Patel is now being reversed. The successive Governments for political reasons have no objection to creation of smaller states. This is turn is again giving birth to regional and religious aspiration which is a dangerous trend.
Though it is claimed that creation of smaller states may be lead to prosperity of people but, in reality, nothing much changes for them.
Yours etc…..
