NEW DELHI, Aug 27: Creativity improves professional efficiency because an intrinsically creative aptitude invariably reflects in the innovative approach of a professional person, be it a public servant or a teacher or a technocrat.
This was stated here today by  Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh while going around exhibition of paintings by noted artist Shuchi Khanna who, by profession, happens to be an illustrious teacher in one of best known schools of Delhi and has, at the same time, made a name for herself in the world of art through her original creations.
While appreciating the work by Shuchi Khanna, Dr Jitendra Singh expressed the hope that her art and teaching profession will supplement each other, thus enabling her students to take the inspiration from her talent just as much as her peers in the community of artists seek an inspiration from her.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, it has been his considered view and observation over several years of experience that those entrusted with the responsibility of performing public responsibilities are always more innovative and forthcoming with new ideas if they also possess a creative talent whether it be in the form of writing, painting, sculpture or otherwise. Those who are indifferent to creativity, often tend to end up as status-quoists without contributing value – addition to their work, he said.
In the present dispensation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where innovation and out -of – box thinking has an opportunity to express itself, Dr Jitendra Singh said, this is one of the ideal times to supplement one’s creative thought in the task of nation building. It is no small coincidence, he said that in the last three years, while the political decision – making has shown unconventional inclinations, the bureaucracy has also felt emboldened to take some very unorthodox decisions, unlike in the past.
