Rising crime graph against woman is a matter of grave concern. Every remains full of incidents where rape, gang rape, dowry deaths, domestic violence are tearfully recorded. Discouraging statistics of sex-ratio between male and female children indicates sheer discrimination on the part of parents. The womanhood, from time immemorial has been enjoying respectable place in the society. The epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata elaborately explain how the women used to be respected and regarded in those days. Even now they stand second to none.
Reaching upto Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prime Ministerial chair, renowned scientists, educationists, doctors and leaving no sector of the society and Government untouched, the women remained on fore front. Crime against women is serious social and cultural degradation. Crime mentality fattened during proceeding decades due to laxity in execution of law because of corruption and moral turpitude to the extent that now every effort control the epidemic of crimes is failing. Shocking incidents of gang rapes lower our image in the galaxy of nations and disturb immensely our social life. No doubt every effort is in hand by the law agencies to ensure no such culprit goes unpunished, yet until cultural, ethical and moral values are cultivated and golden ruler of humanity the taught to our youngesters total eradication of such evils may not be possible.
