Crime Branch arrests two fraudsters, seizes incriminating material

JAMMU, Dec 30: Crime Branch Jammu conducted raids at different places in RS Pura area and arrested two fraudsters and seized some incriminating material.
This was informed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Branch Jammu, Rajeshwar Singh.
He said that the arrested fraudsters were identified as Amarjeet Singh alias Dimple, son of Harnam Singh of House Number 96, Malikpur Partly Simbal and Pawanpreet Singh alias Appu, son of late Assa Singh of Makhanpur Gujran Simbal Camp. Some incriminating material was also seized from their possession.
“Both the fraudsters were involved in FIR Number 44/2021 under Sections 419, 465, 467, 468, 471, 489-A-E and 120-B IPC r/w 66-D IT Act 2000 registered with Police Station Crime Branch Jammu”, SSP said they were arrested for their involvement in clandestinely issuing fake and forged certificates including Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), vehicle permits, driving licenses, birth certificates etc. in Jammu for ulterior motives.
“The case was registered by Crime Branch Jammu on the basis of reliable source information which pointed towards involvement of some fraudsters in issuing fake and forged certificates and documents of different nature to the people for their vested interests. Accordingly various teams were constituted by Crime Branch Jammu for conducting simultaneous raids at different locations”, SSP said.
He added that raids were conducted in the early morning hours in a very professional and meticulous way by the teams of Crime Branch Jammu with the assistance of CAPF from PCR Jammu, Jammu Police and other Civil authorities in the presence of Magistrates. The raids led to the arrest of the two suspects besides seizure of the incriminating material from them, SSP informed.
“The investigation of the case is in progress for obtaining different leads and clues from the questioning of the suspects so that the investigation of the case is taken to its logical conclusion”, SSP Crime Branch Jammu Rajeshwar Singh asserted.
