Crime Branch busts racket preparing fake gun licenses

JAMMU, Dec 9: Crime Branch Jammu  today busted a racket involved in preparing fake gun licenses and arrested the kingpin, who was running a gun shop in Miran Sahib area.
The accused has been identified as  Tejinder Singh Tejpal,  resident of Miran Sahib. He  was  running a shop under the name and style M/s Vinay Gun House, located at Kharian Miran Sahib.
On search of his shop,  the Crime Branch Jammu recovered a gun license issue register on Form III along with 80 gun licenses,  which contained the seal and signatures of District Magistrate Doda. Some pages of the register, which is otherwise supposed to be with District Magistrate Office,  were  carrying only the seal and signatures without any name.
During further questioning the accused revealed that he has  prepared the said records on his own, and accordingly maintained the records of all the 80 applicants and thereafter prepared the copies of licenses after pasting their photographs on both sides of the register and copies of licenses.
He further revealed that, he had hired the services of one student namely Rashid Ali of  R S Pura who used to maintain Form-III Register.
Crime Branch has registered a case in this connection and further investigation in the matter was going on.
