JAMMU, June 23: The Government today ordered reorganization of the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police to enhance its investigating capabilities.
The Crime Branch will now have four Wings. They include Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Special Crime Wing (SCW), Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) and Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), an order issued today by the Home Department said.
There will be two units of Economic Offences Wings as well as Special Crime Wing with headquarters at Jammu and Srinagar.
All four units will be headed by a Superintendent of Police.
The Crime Headquarters will discharge responsibilities of Intelligence, Training and Policy, CCTNS etc.
The Government has transferred 85 posts in various ranks from the erstwhile Anti-Hijacking Unit to the Crime Branch which include one SP, one DySP, 10 Inspectors, one Inspector (Ministerial), 60 Sub Inspectors, 10 Head Constable and two Selection Grade Constables (Ministerial).
Ten posts of DySPs (Executive) have been transferred to the Crime Branch from overall reserves of Jammu and Kashmir Police (Gazetted) Services.
