Crime Branch’s SCW files charge-sheets in two fraud cases

JAMMU, Dec 31: The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of the Crime Branch, Jammu, has filed charge-sheets in two complex fraud cases, bringing them before the courts for judicial review.
In the first case, authorities uncovered a scheme where an individual used a fake date of birth certificate to secure a Government job under SRO-43.
As per a Crime Branch official, the accused, along with the then CEO of Jammu and other accomplices, manipulated legal documents and misled the court to obtain the fraudulent certificate.
This allowed the individual, who was a juvenile at the time in 1997, to get a job in the PHE Department, he said.
The case, investigated by DySP Anita Kattal, has now been brought before the Railway Court, added the Crime Branch official.
According to him, the second case involved a shocking betrayal of trust within a marriage.
In this case, the Crime Branch official said, a husband illicitly withdrew Rs 11,35,785 from his wife’s bank account without her knowledge or consent.
The fraud was investigated by Inspector Kali Charan, and the charge-sheet was presented to the City Judge’s Court, he said.
