JAMMU, May 20: A criminal has been arrested with a country made pistol and live cartridges, here today.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near cremation ground Shastri Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered a country made pistol and two live cartridges from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Manoj Kumar alias Moja, son of Ashok Kumar of Ward Number 4 RS Pura.
It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested accused was previously involved in a number of cases including attempt to murder, extortion, stabbing, possession of illegal arms, etc and was recently released after detention under PSA.
A fresh case under FIR Number 131/2019 under section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani.
