Criminal held with fake gun license

JAMMU, Nov 19: City police today arrested a criminal along with a Ordinance Factory revolver, which he had procured on the basis of a fake gun license, which he got in 2003 with fake signatures and stamps of the Home Department.
Police arrested Deepak Dogra alias Minta Langra son of Rattan Lal, a resident of Mastgarh, who happened to be a history sheeter having involvement in murder and attempt to murder cases. Police recovered a revolver from his possession.
However, during investigations of the case conducted by SHO City Inspector Bharat Sharma, it was detected that Minta Langra had procured a fake gun license in 2003, which carried fake signatures and stamps of the Home Department. On the basis of fake license, the criminal had also taken a revolver from the Ordinance Factory.
Police said Minta also got the gun license renewed from several Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) in Jammu, Samba and other districts. However, none of them could detect that they were renewing the fake gun license.
Police have registered a case against the criminal as well as in fake gun license racket at City police station for further investigations.
