JAMMU, May 13: Police today arrested a notorious criminal while his associate managed to escape outside Satwari police station naka this evening.
Police intercepted motor-cycle No. 1191 JK02AX and nabbed one of the criminal, who has been identified as Vijay Kumar alias Naggi son of Nagar Mal, a resident of Ward No. 7, RS Pura.
However, his associate, who was also riding the same bike, managed to escape on observing police naka.
Police recovered a sharp edged weapon from the possession of Naagi. A case has been registered against the accused under Arms Act at Satwari police station.
Police parties headed by DySP probationer Shabir Ahmad Khan, officiating SHO Satwari, made the arrest.
