KATHUA , Sept 5: Accusing the Coalition Government of being knee-deep involved in corruption, BJYM national president and MP from Himachal Pradesh Anurag Thakur today said that two alliance partners National Conference (NC) and Congress are hand in glove so far as rising corruption in J&K is concerned.
Addressing a mammoth rally of BJYM activists here today, he said the crores of rupees are swindled on the name of Dal Development Project in the State and there is no accountability for the same.
The Centre Government which is itself involved in hundreds of scams is unable to check the corrupt practices in the State and seek proper account of the funds released by it for Dal Development or other welfare schemes in the State, he said.
Turning towards the defense land scam near Srinagar Airport he held the Government responsible for the same and demanded a CBI probe into it.
Mr Thakur, while listing the scams and corruptions in the State, said no action was taken in J&K Cricket Association scam so far and the culprits have not been punished. Likewise the killers of the NC activist at Chief Minister’s residence also go scoot free. If this is the State of affairs in the state how a common man can seek justice under the present political dispensation he asked?
The BJYM leader asked the people to throw this corrupt Government out in next Assembly poll and strengthen BJP.
Terming the recent report of Central interlocutors on J&K as rubbish he said they ignored the nationalist people in the State and gave preference to anti national voices. So how this report can be acceptable to the people, he added.
Reiterating the BJP’s stand on Coal Gate scam he said the Party will stick to its stand and will not allow the Parliament to function till the PM resigns and guilty are punished under law of the land.
Mr Thakur said hundreds of scams have surfaced during the UPA rule and this Government is not bothered for the same.
Earlier on his arrival at Jammu airport he told reporters that Prem Kumar Dhumal will be the Chief Minister candidate of BJP during 2014 elections in Himachal Pradesh.
“Mr Dhumal will remain BJP’s first choice for CM candidate from HP” he added.
He said Mr Dhumal has given a good governance and development during his tenure in Himachal Pradesh and no doubt he will remain the first choice in next Assembly elections” he said.
However on Coal Gate, he said from first day, BJP has exposed the scam, but Congress was not ready to accept the blame.
“With CBI raids on Congress leaders and their relatives’ residences, the things have become quite transparent”, he added.
Mr Thakur said BJP is firm on its stand of seeking resignation of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on coal scam.
The rally was organized by BJYM district unit Kathua and it was addressed among others by BJP State president, Shamsher Singh Manhas, BJP Legislative Party leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP, general secretary, Sat Sharma (CA), BJYM, State president, Munish Sharma and its district president Gopal Mahajan.
