SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Amid heightened tensions along borders in State, the weekly cross-LoC bus service today failed to take off with no passenger leaving for Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) from Indian side and similarly no guest came from the other side.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Nisar Ahmad Naqash, confirmed to Excelsior that the bus service could not take off today. He said that there were some technical issues on the other side and refused the notion that it was due to ongoing border tensions between India and Pakistan.
A police official posted in Uri said they have no idea as to why the bus service was suspended today. However, the DC Baramulla said that it would be resumed next week as per schedule. “It has nothing to do with border skirmishes,” he added.
