UDHAMPUR, Dec 12: A CRPF Jawan was knocked to death by a car near Omara Morh Udhampur while in another road mishap, five persons were injured when a minibus rolled down at Supply Morh, here today.
According to the police report, a Baleno car bearing registration number JK14A-1728 hit a CRPF Jawan of 137- Bn near Omara Morh Udhampur. Locals rushed to the spot and took the injured person to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Constable Sandeep Singh, son of Mewa Singh, resident of Bidola, District Bhiwani, Haryana State.
Udhampur Police arrested driver of the Baleno car and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, five persons were injured when a minibus rolled down into gorge at Supply Morh near AT Gate in Udhampur, here late last night.
According to the reports, the minibus, bearing registration number JK14-5203- was on its way to Barolla and had been carrying persons who were part of a Barat in marriage function at Krimchi. The accident took place around 11 pm when driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle rolled down into deep gorge.
Locals and Rehambal Police rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur. The injured were identified as driver Javed Ahmed alias Happy (25), son of Karamt Ali of Barolla, Anil Kumar (22) son of Kartar Nath of Barolla, Sahil Kumar (17) son of Sham Lal of Barolla, Aman Sharma (23) son of Sudhir Sharma of Barolla and Sanjay (23) son of Santosh of Barolla.
