CRPF jawan killed in road mishap

KATHUA, Sept 23: A CRPF Havaldar was killed after he was hit by a truck on Pathankote- Jammu National Highway early this morning while he along with his other colleagues were waiting for the bus for Kathua after completing their night patrolling duty at Magar Khad in Lakhnpur area.
He has been identified as Narinder Singh, 50, S/o Kashmir Singh of Talwandi district Gurdaspur in neighbouring Punjab.
Police said the CRPF Havaldar  was on duty at Magar Khad during night and at  4 am today when he along with other colleagues came to NH at Lakhanpur after their shift was over to board the CRPF vehicle for Kathua a truck bearing registration number JK03D 9154 which was on its way from Pathankote to Jammu hit him. He fell down in a poll of blood.
He was shifted to district Hospital Kathua where doctors declared him as brought dead. Lakhanpur Police has registered a case and seized the truck. However, the driver managed to flee after accident.
The body of havaldar was handed over to his family members by police after postmortem and completion of all legal formalities.
