Srinagar : A paramilitary Central Reserve Police (CRPF) officer was martyred, while three others including a civilian were injured after militants attacked a CRPF party near Achabal in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
Militants fired upon the CRPF party at Achabal injuring three CRPF personnel including an officer and a pedestrian. They were taken to nearby Achabal hospital for treatment where the CRPF officer succumbed.
The deceased has been identified as ASI ML Meena. Two other CRPF men were referred to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar.
The injured civilian has been identified as Ghulam Rasool.
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the assailants.
