BHADERWAH: Security is being beefed up — with additional mobile jammers and forces — for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in the South Kashmir Himalayas starting on June 29 this year, a senior CRPF officer said.
“Besides routine security measures, extra forces along with new gadgets including 20 mobile jammers and some static jammers will be put in place to ensure a peaceful Amarnath Yatra this year,” Inspector General (IG) CRPF A V Chouhan told reporters today.
Jammers are used to block mobile signals to disable the use of cell phones, which are often the mode of communication in militant attacks. (AGENCIES)
