NEW DELHI, Feb 18: Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.22 per cent to Rs 6,245 per barrel today as speculators engaged in creating positions amid a mixed trend in Asia.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in February gained Rs 14, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 6,245 per barrel, with a business turnover of 1,002 lots.
The oil for the March delivery moved up by Rs 10, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 6,256 per barrel, with a business volume of 213 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in crude oil futures was largely in tandem with a mixed trend in Asian trade with cold weather in the US pushing demand for heating fuel higher and credit growth in China also giving support.
