NEW DELHI, Mar 5: Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.28 per cent to Rs 6,415 per barrel today as speculators created fresh positions amid a mixed trend in Asia.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April gained Rs 18, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 6,415 per barrel, with a business turnover of 110 lots.
The oil for March delivery also moved up by Rs 15, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 6,410 per barrel in a turnover of 1,338 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in crude oil futures was largely in tandem with a mixed trend in Asia on easing tension between Russia and Ukraine.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for April delivery, rose 12 cents to USD 103.45 per barrel in mid-morning Asian trade, while Brent North Sea crude for April eased three cents to USD 109.27 at the New York Mercantile Exchange. (AGENCIES)
