Crude palm oil futures extend weakness on low spot demand

NEW DELHI, June 18: Crude palm oil prices fell further by 0.55 per cent to Rs 450.90 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.
Also, adequate stocks in the physical market on higher supplies from major producing regions weighed on crude palm oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in July traded lower by Rs 2.50, or 0.55 per cent to Rs 450.90 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 235 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in June contracts shed Rs 2.30, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 451.00 per 10 kg in 178 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of subdued demand at the spot market against sufficient stocks kept crude palm oil prices lower at futures trade. (PTI)
