Crude palm oil up 1.27% in futures trade on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Oct 5:  Crude palm oil prices were up by 1.27 per cent to Rs 430 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on hopes of higher demand ahead of festive season and firm trend at the spot market.
Besides, tight supplies from major producing belts too supported crude palm oil futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange crude palm oil for October rose by Rs 5.40, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 430 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 565 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November moved up by Rs 5.20, or 1.22 per cent to Rs 429.90 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 83 lots.
Analysts said speculators creating fresh positions on expectations of pick up in spot demand ahead of festivals, mainly led to rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
