Crush terror outfits, leave no stone unturned to complete mission: LG

JAMMU, Nov 3: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said the terrorists targeting the citizens will have to pay a very heavy price for their actions and called upon security agencies including Jammu and Kashmir Police to crush terror outfits and leave no stone unturned to complete the mission.

Sinha’s remarks came amid surge in terror attacks including the latest one today on Sunday Market in Srinagar in which 11 civilians were injured in a grenade attack.
He spoke to Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and senior officials of the security agencies on grenade attack in Srinagar.
The Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to address first Assembly session of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory at 11.30 AM in Srinagar tomorrow. The session will last till November 8.
An official statement issued here today said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke to Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and senior security officials following grenade attack in Srinagar and directed the security officials for effective and forceful response to punish the terrorists and their associates.
He reaffirmed the Government’s resolve not to allow terrorist elements to succeed in their nefarious designs.
“Terrorists targeting our citizens will have to pay a very heavy price for their actions,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He told the Jammu and Kashmir Police chief and senior security officials that they have full freedom to crush terror outfits and they should leave no stone unturned to complete this mission.
Sinha wished speedy recovery to those injured in the grenade attack and asked the district administration to extend all possible assistance to them.
It may be mentioned here that 11 civilians were injured when the militants lobbed grenade on the visitors of Sunday Market in Srinagar.
Prior to this, a number of terror attacks took place in the Kashmir valley. Security forces yesterday eliminated three terrorists including a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit in the Valley.
Few days back, the Lieutenant Governor held back-to-back security review meetings in Srinagar including that of Unified Headquarters in which surge in terror attacks and steps to eliminate terrorists and dismantle their terror ecosystem was discussed.
Today, the Lieutenant Governor spoke to top brass of Jammu and Kashmir Police and security agencies and issued directions for crushing the terrorism.
Today’s terror attack in Srinagar comes just a day ahead of the start of first Legislative Assembly session of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory which will be addressed by the Lieutenant Governor tomorrow morning.
The LG’s Address will be debated for three days followed by reply by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The session will conclude on November 8.
