JAMMU, Dec 26: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo today held a meeting of Industries & Commerce (I&C) Department to have the first hand appraisal of the plan devised for implementation of GoI sponsored Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme in J&K.
The meeting besides the Commissioner Secretary, I&C Department was attended by MD, JKTPO; Director Industries, Kashmir/Jammu; Representatives from IIM Jammu; NABARD; SIDBI and other concerned officers.
During this meeting, the Chief Secretary took note of the approved Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) for J&K and the roadmap devised by the department to successfully implement here.
Dulloo took this occasion to impress upon the concerned to make a best choice among the options available for implementation of different components of this scheme here in the UT.
He advised for roping in better implementing partners who have greater repute, more expertise and wider presence here in the UT so that each component of this scheme is continuously monitored and efficiently implemented on ground.
He made out that choosing better strategy is going to have direct bearing on the outcomes of this scheme. He called for taking steps to get the scheme going on right earnest for the MSME sector is the backbone of industrial sector of J&K and comprises its largest base here.
The Commissioner Secretary, I&C, Vikramjit Singh presented the meeting about the status of the implementation of this scheme in the UT.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary held a meeting of top civil administration and police officers to take stock of the preparations made for celebrating the upcoming Republic Day, 2025 in the UT.
The Chief Secretary took this occasion to impress upon the concerned divisional administration to take necessary steps to encourage people to participate in this national event. He asked for creating celebratory aura through out J&K especially in the twin cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
He directed the administration to illuminate all the landmark sites and prominent government buildings. He also stressed on ensuring plausible transport and seating arrangements for the school children.
The Chief Secretary further instructed for making adequate arrangements for parking of vehicles besides ensuring smooth movement of traffic on roads. He took note of the kind of security arrangements required to be put in place for ensuring smooth conduct of this significant event.
He also encouraged the Departments of Culture to make a tableaux on cultural diversity of J&K, PDD on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Police on Drug Abuse, Health on TB Mukt J&K and YS&S on Fit India Movement.
The other agenda items which came up for discussion during this meeting includes the uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation of the venues besides the accomplishment of other civil works taken up by the R&B Department to ready the venues at both Jammu and Srinagar.
