SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyan today handed over keys of 12 new official vehicles to Revenue officers including Assistant Commissioners and Tehsildars of Srinagar district.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Secretary while speaking on the occasion said the Revenue is amongst the most important departments in a district and that its officers must be equipped with all required facilities for smooth functioning.
He said the newly provided vehicles will enable the Revenue officers of the capital district of Srinagar to quickly and efficiently execute their important duties as they must.
He also said the Government is committed to further strengthening and equipping with all necessary facilities the Revenue Department in all districts of J&K to enable officers to function smoothly and to their fullest potential.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who was also present on the occasion thanked the Chief Secretary for fulfilling this long-pending demand and need of Revenue officers of the district.
