JAMMU, Oct 12: Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khandey convened a high level meeting today to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Darbar Move to the winter capital. The Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in Srinagar on October 25 and start functioning in Jammu from November 4.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, IGP Rajesh K. Singh, District Development Commissioner, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, DIG Traffic, S. S. Wattali, SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Security, Chief Engineers R&B and PHE, Director Health, Director Estates, Commissioner JMC and other senior officers.
Chief Secretary directed all the concerned departments to ensure that the renovation and repair works are completed on time to provide necessary facilities to employees. He also stressed on better synergy among the department for putting in place the arrangements for smooth functioning of offices.
He inspected various residential colonies of the Darbar Move employees and asked Health Department to set up evening clinics for two hours in the residential colonies to provide health facilities to the employees.
Keeping in view the security scenario, Mr. Khanday also directed for provision of security guards in all residential colonies. He emphasized upon the NBCC and ERA agencies to ensure completion of all the road repair works well before the opening of Darbar Move offices in Jammu for smooth flow of traffic.
Chief Secretary directed for ensuring smooth services to the employees regarding supply of ration and LPG. The concerned authorities also apprised the chair about the electricity, water and health facilities being provided to the employees.
He also directed JMC authorities to ensure proper sanitation and fogging in the residential colonies of the employees and in the secretariat premises as well.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the pace of work on the new legislature complex.
