JAMMU, Jan 31: Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, today reviewed the preparations for Indian Science Congress and the upcoming Budget Session of the State Legislature during the periodic meeting of the Committee of Secretaries.
Chief Secretary received brief about the arrangements put in place for the conference to be held at Jammu University from 3rd to 7th February. This 101st Annual Session of Indian Science Congress will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Delegates comprising international experts along with national luminaries are expected to participate in the event.
Chief Secretary was apprised about the arrangements at the venue, accommodation and transportation facilities for delegates besides arrangements put in place by PDD, PHE, Municipal Corporation, Transport and other departments for the event.
The meeting also discussed the preparations for the upcoming session of the State Legislature starting from 10th February, with directions to all Administrative Secretaries to get ready for the session and actively cooperate with the Law Department, Legislative Council and Assembly Secretariat in the successful conduct of the legislative business.
Matters pertaining to SMS based monitoring in PDD,PHE,R&B, filling up of posts in Education Department, RFD, and other issues were also taken up in the meeting.
