JAMMU, Jan 8: J&K CSC Association’s protest against the Government and other agencies involved in E-governance project launched in 2009 entered second day here today.
Hundreds of Khidmat Centre Owners (VLEs) from all parts of the State assembled outside Divisional Commission Office at Panama Chowk and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While speaking, president of the association said that Government till date has totally failed to implement the centrally sponsored National e-Governance Project (NeGP).
He said that they were deceased by the Government since their beginning as front end delivery points for NeGS four years back, adding that no revenue generating service has been provided to the Khidmat Centre’s till date.
He said that Government is inefficient to transfer already digitized electricity bill collection service to Khidmat Centre, which fall under G2C service category.
Career of thousands of youth (VLEs) is at stake due to callous attitude of the Government authorities, he alleged.
“We are making representations to Chief Minister for the past four years, but nothing has been done in this regard”, he said, adding that even formal Government order pertaining to the monthly stipend of Rs 7,500 for each VLE from Chief Minister Office vaporized without implementation.
He said that immediate demands like transfer of electricity bill collection, disbursement of pending GAP support and other revenue generating services should be fulfilled, otherwise the association will continue its protest and will also launch campaign against the Government.
