CSC report needs review : Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu,  Feb 6: Former Minister and Member AICC today said that creation of administrative units is a welcome step and a historical move but the manner and criteria adopted for the purpose is questionable.
He said that some of the creations are for no reason which has dented the credibility of the Government as there was neither a demand nor a justified reason for such creations. He said that a good number of the proposed administrative units are only a burden on the exchequer and can’t be laminated as a welfare measure but seems a haphazard and jumbled creation.
Former minister said that CSC deserves appreciation for hard work and dedication but the report needs a review. He said that where only one Tehsil, or a Block was needed multiple units have been created and in some cases distance is less than two kilometers which is beyond prudence.  Vakil was addressing INTUC workers meeting at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Mr Vakil asked the Government to put in the public domain the financial status of the State keeping in view the recent media reports about the worst-ever fiscal crisis in the State. He said that there is lot of confusion and chaos prevailing amongst all the sections particularly in employees. He said that by curtailing allocation in respect of the developmental works and fulfilling other requirements at its cost cannot work always instead austerity measures must be put in place.
Vakil reiterated that for coming Lok Sabha election, if all seats in Kashmir valley were surrendered to any particular party in the name of alliance or coalition, it can prove disastrous for the party because Congress represents India in Kashmir.
