CSIR IIIM commemorates National Technology Day

Srinagar, May 12: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu commemorated National Technology Day 2022 at its Field Station in Pulwama under the patronage of Dr D. Srinivasa Reddy Director, CSIR IIIM Jammu.
The programme was attended by 50 students from Central High School, Pulwama and Govt. High School, Bandzoo, Pulwama.
The programme included technical sessions, a field exposure visit and a passage writing competition on the theme “Role of Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future”.
At the outset of the programme welcome address was presented by Dr Iqra Farooq, who informed the participants about the importance of the National Technology Day and the different scientific activities being undertaken at the Station for the benefit of society and industry.
Dr Rozy Rasool and Pravin Kumar demonstrated the production and crop management practices of various aromatic, floricultural crops and distillation of Damask Rose for oil extraction.
Later, Dr Shahid Rasool, Senior Scientist and Incharge of the Station delivered the lead lecture at the event and informed the participants about the different technologies developed by CSIR and other R&D organizations of the country in the area of Agriculture, Information Technology, Space, Aviation and other sectors of societal relevance.
He informed that CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and other CSIR Institutes are relentlessly striving for technological development, advancement for Science and Technological led the development of the Country.
Abdul Rehman, Science Faculty from Central School Pulwama while speaking about the importance of the day also thanked the organizers for the conduct of the event.
In the passage writing competition, the First Prize and Second Prize were secured by Arsalan Showket and Faizan of Govt. High School, Bandzoo, Pulwama, respectively and Third prize went to Numan Nazir Central High School, Pulwama.
