JAMMU, Dec 18: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu conducted the IIST outreach programme here today. The celebrations of 9th Edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) 2023, an annual event organised jointly by Science & Technology related Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Vijnana Bharati (Vibha), being held this year at DBT THSTI – RCB Campus, Faridabad, from January 17 to 20. The programme was attended by 700 students along with teachers drawn from various schools of Jammu region.
Dr Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM enthused the students to participate in IISF-2022 in large numbers, and assured full support to the students in pursuing scientific inquisitiveness. He also mentioned other student, society related activities taken up by CSIR-IIIM. The Director also informed the students to connect through ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ portal and share their innovative ideas.
The guest from VIBHA, Prof Pawanesh Abrol, Vice President and HoD, Department of Computer Science, University of Jammu made a detailed presentation regarding various events that will be organized during IISF-2023. Earlier, Dr. Dhiraj Vyas, Head, Plant Sciences Division, coordinator of the event, in his welcome address informed the students about the four aspects of doing ‘wonderful’ science and arranging such events & its benefits.
Prominent among others were present on the occasion, Dr. Asha Chaubey, HoD, FMB, Division, Dr. Sumit Gandhi, HoD, Infectious Diseases, Dr. Naveed Qazi, HoD, NPMC, Division, Dr. Deepika Singh, HoD, QMI, Division. Deepika & Shifali, Ph.D scholars conducted the event and Er. Abdul Rahim, Chief Scientist & Head, RMBD&IST presented the formal vote of thanks.
