JAMMU, Nov 2: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu organized one day Joint Hindi Workshop (Rajbhasha Karyashala) for all the members of TOLIC, Jammu here today.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM and Chairman, TOLIC, Jammu, in presence of Dr Bharat Bhushan Sharma, President, Rashtrabhasha Prachaar Samiti, Jammu; Dr Sanjay K Singh, Deputy Director, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Jammu and Sanjay Sharma, Secretary, TOLIC, Jammu. A total of 48 participants drawn from various members institutes of TOLIC-014 attended this workshop.
Dr Zabeer Ahmed, while speaking on the occasion, informed the delegates of workshop about this endeavor of TOLIC Jammu is first of its kind and there are many steps which need to be taken by each and every partner of TOLIC in order to protect and promote rich linguistic heritage while sustaining lingual harmony. He announced that in near future, regional conference for promotion of Hindi language would also be organized.
In the first Session, Dr Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Rajbhasha Prachaar Samiti Jammu, delivered the lecture entitled, “Importance of Rajbhasha Hind. Dr Rajeev Kumar Rawat, Sr Hindi Officer, IIT-Kharagpur, who shared the technical and operational knowhow of the unique Memory Based Translation Tool “Kanthasth 2.0” which is recently released by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs in creative collaboration with C-DAC, Pune.
Dr Sharat Sharma, Ex Principal, Central Sanskrit University, Jammu commenced the second half of the workshop with his lecture on the ‘Translation Activities in Govt Offices’ which highlighted the various statutory and constitutional compliances.
A more pragmatic approach regarding Hindi implementation in Government bodies was shared by Nagender Kumar Mishra, Deputy General Manager, Engineers India Limited, Delhi.
Lastly, Dr Priyanjan Sharma, Hindi Officer, Central University, Samba (Jammu) delivered the last lecture of the day on the ‘Use of Official Language Hindi in Govt. Offices’.
Earlier, Er Abdul Rahim, Head RMBD & IST, highlighted the significance of TOLIC, Jammu as an apex organization relentlessly working in promotion, propagation and implementation of linguistic legacy.
The workshop proceedings were conducted by Sanjay Sharma, Secretary, TOLIC, Jammu while as Mayank Mishra, Hindi Translator presented formal vote of thanks.
