JAMMU, Aug 10: Civic Safai Karamchari Union (CSKU) here today staged a protest demonstration and raised demands like regularization of Safai Sathis working with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for the last many years.
The protest was led by Rinku Gill, CSKU president, who while addressing the protesters said there are about 600 Safai Sathis working with JMC who have not been regularized even after working in JMC for many years.
He also said that the concerned authorities should also release the list of 600 casual Safai Sathis for which entire recruitment procedure has been completed and only the selection list is to be made public.
Gill said that Safai Sathis and other staff of JMC including drivers etc should be given two and half day salaries as is there for the employees working in departments involving emergency nature of works.
