JAMMU, Mar 8: As a part of its endeavor to generate awareness and educate the trading fraternity, members of the Bar, Chartered Accountants / Sales tax practitioners and other stakeholders, the Commercial Taxes Department organized an interactive session on “Goods and Services Tax” here today.
Master Trainers from the department gave a detailed overview of the GST Act and were apprised the participants that the implementation of the Act would result in a unified market and the ill effects of cascading would be mitigated. Suggestions were sought from stakeholders and all the queries raised were replied on spot.
The participants appreciated the initiative taken by the Department to apprise them about the GST.
