JAMMU, Dec 13: A delegation of College Teachers Association (CTA) led by its president, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia met newly appointed Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo at Civil Secretariat here, today to apprise him of the long pending demands of college teachers for their early redressal.
The meeting served as a platform for fruitful discussion on various issues confronting the fraternity. At the very outset of the meeting Dr Rakesh Jasrotia, on behalf of the entire college teachers fraternity heartily welcomed Atal Dulloo and sincerely conveyed him the great hopes generated by his appointment as Chief Secretary of the UT of J&K in all the cadres in general and the college teachers in particular, as far as the resolution of the genuine issues is concerned.
During the meeting, CTA raised some long pending issues and brought them in the notice of the Chief Secretary which included immediate restoration of advanced increments for higher qualifications of PhD/MPhil, uniformity in the age of superannuation for the college teachers in the UT of J&K vis-a-vis the University Teachers of Universities within the UT of J&K as well as in other UTs and States per the recommendations of the Committee constituted by GAD vide Government Order No. 1058-JK(GAD)2020 dated 20-11-2020, release of arrears of the faculty members placed as Associate Professors vide Government Order No. 136-JK (HE) 2022, dated: 23-05-2022, timely placements and release of arrears immediately thereafter.
Chief Secretary listened to the issues raised by the delegation and immediately marked the representation for the Principal Secretary Higher Education for further necessary action thereof. The other members who accompanied the delegation included Prof K.K.Manhas, Prof Amit Kumar Sharma (general secretary), Prof Mohd Qayoom (finance secretary) and Prof Lokender Singh.
