JAMMU, Nov 24: A delegation of J&K College Teachers Association (CTA) led by its president, Prof D.S. Manhas called on Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in PMO (independent charge ) DoNER, MoS for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Atomic Energy and Space, Government of India to discuss various issues related to college teachers.
The issues discussed with the Minister included implementation of UGC guidelines in toto which includes enhancing the age of superannuation of college teachers to 62 at par with the State universities, creation of post of Professor in colleges, separate directorates of Higher Education for Jammu and Kashmir, change of nomenclature of PTI, removal of pay anomaly in implementing 6th Pay Commission.
The Association had a detailed discussion on all these issues with Union Minister and it stressed that these genuine demands of the college teachers be looked into and resolved immediately and sought the personnel intervention of the Minister in implementing UGC regulations in toto in the State.
The Minister assured the Association that he would look into the matter and intervene in resolving the genuine issues of the college teachers.
