CTA president apprises JU VC of college teachers’ demands

JAMMU, Sept 25: President of J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu wing), Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta called on Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof M P Singh Ishar and demanded immediate release of dues to the participants of various courses conducted by the Academic Staff College of the university.
Informing that TA/DA dues of a number of participants were pending since March 2012, he also demanded that the remuneration bills for various university assignments should also be released without any further delay, since adequate funds have been earmarked and released for the same purpose.
Dr Avinash Gupta also urged the Vice Chancellor to follow up the issues of enhancement of remuneration rates for university assignments and reservation for wards of college teachers in university admissions.
The Vice Chancellor assured CTA that he was personally monitoring these issues. He directed the Controller of Examinations to convey the right interpretation of the University Council resolution on the parity in evaluation of answer scripts to the accounts branch of the university.
The CTA president demanded that College teachers should be allowed as research guides, especially those teachers who already have minor and major research projects to their credit. It was also demanded to relax research guidance norm for college teachers for direct recruitment of teaching faculty in the university.
General secretary CTA Dr Satesh Bhan also accompanied Mr Gupta during meeting with the Vice Chancellor.
