JAMMU, Apr 12: College Teachers’ Association (CTA), Jammu wing has expressed resentment over the circular issued by the Education Department regarding re-designation of Selection Grade Lecturers/ Assistant Professors with AGP of Rs 8000.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the Association convened today by CTA president, Dr Sanjay Verma. The speakers said that they strongly resented the contents of the circular vide No Edu-Coll/Coord-175/2009 dated 11-04-2016, whereby the Government has not taken into consideration the genuine demands of the association concerning anomalies in SRO-124.
The Association demanded that all the cases of placement in the Pay Band of Rs 37000-Rs 67000 with AGP of Rs 9000 should be cleared immediately without any conditions, as has been done by UGC and placement of Assistant Professors with AGP of Rs 6000 to Senior Grade with AGP of Rs 7000 and from Senior to Selection Grade with AGP of Rs 8000 be cleared on pro-rata basis.
The speakers said if the issue is not resolved and addressed immediately the association will be forced to take extreme step of giving a call for the strike.
