JAMMU, Sept 14: Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) today called for immediate resolution of Revenue record related issues like Gair Mumkin Khad nomenclature, Roshni Scheme, allotted lands besides renewal of lease deeds etc.
In a meeting held today stakeholders from various associations shared concern over the economic impact of such policy paralysis that has led to denial of property rights for no fault of the inhabitants of Jammu.
Entrepreneurs are unable to take benefits of various Government schemes for business development as the mortgage value is considered zero by banks and other financial institutions.
“Land and building as assets have served as backbone of the banking sector across the world, however, in our State due to ambiguity of revenue laws further complicated by different interpretations has led to total chaos and has brought to standstill lending activities by the bank,” inferred Raman Gupta , president CTF.
“Properties pledged after proper verification by the law department of the respective banks are being re-classified as “bad” and business owners are called upon to change properties thus putting their survival at stake” he concluded after listening to various such cases.
Patron CTF, Neeraj Anand urged the administration especially the office of Chief Secretary Arun Mehta to pull Jammu out of such bewilderment. He opined that digitalization process initiated wherein records /Fard extracts are now available in English along with geo-tags will surely end possibilities of bunglings however, genuine public sufferings for long should be provided some immediate solution till the time transformation process is completed.
Anand reminded the administration that the general public should not be held ransom for the wrongs if any done by those at the helm of affairs.
Jammu as always has been a compliant society eager to contribute in the Nation building exercise , even our PM’s dream of a 5 trillion dollar economy is dear to our hearts but the entrepreneurial spirit of the Jammu society is being caged by such bureaucratic hurdles and constant policy paralysis experienced hitherto.
Neeraj said administration should follow the spirit of the law which proclaims that in the test of the law “no innocent should be held even if many go scott free ” but for the apparent wrongs of a few a whole society is being punished, taking away their right to dignified living and organic growth.
