JAMMU, Sept 11: The Compost-cum-Transport Officers in Jammu Municipal Corporation have voiced serious concern over denial of promotional opportunities to them notwithstanding the fact that they were working in the JMC for past 20 to 22 years.
In representations submitted to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Urban Development Minister Rigzin Jora, the Compost-cum-Transport Officers have regretted that they have been denied a single promotion in past 20 to 22 years.
They said the Compost-cum-Transport Officers can be promoted to the posts of Transport Officers, Assistant Sanitation Officers as Sanitation Officers etc.
“The vacancies are also available with the Corporation but despite our repeated representations to the Chief Minister, Ministers and Government officers including Commissioner/ Secretary Urban Development Department and JMC Commissioner, no effort has been made to promote us,’’ they lamented.
Pointing out that their total strength was between 20 to 25, they said other equivalent officers in their cadre have been promoted but they were being denied their due right of promotion.
