JAMMU, Aug 9: The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) marked its 13th Foundation Day with a celebration acknowledging the remarkable contributions of scientists, faculty, staff, and students across various domains.
Led by Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain, the occasion was a reflection of CUJ’s journey in education and research.
Prof Jain extended his congratulations to the entire CUJ community for successfully completing thirteen years of excellence. He urged students, staff, and faculty to renew their commitment to unity, emphasizing a shared vision and direction.
He expressed optimism that the University could achieve greater heights through teamwork, dedication, and a strong sense of belonging.
A foundation day lecture was delivered by Prof Devanand, who expressed gratitude towards Vice Chancellor Prof Jain. He highlighted that in just 13 years, CUJ has experienced rapid growth in infrastructure, academics, and student achievements. This progress, he noted, is a testament to the Vice Chancellor’s leadership, the hardworking faculty, dedicated staff, motivated research scholars, and supportive alumni. Prof Jain’s dynamic leadership was credited for CUJ’s ascending trajectory.
Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar of CUJ, delivered a formal welcome address during which he emphasized that education’s ultimate goal is to cultivate wisdom and adaptability in a swiftly changing world.
Prof Vandana Sharma, HoD English, emphasized the significance of the Foundation Day in her address.
Prof Deepak Pathania, Dean of Research Studies, shared insights about the university’s functioning.
The event garnered significant attendance from faculty, staff, and students, reflecting the strong engagement and involvement within the CUJ community.
