JAMMU, Nov 3: The Depa-rtment of Social Work, Central University of Jammu, organized a consultation meet with representatives of Government departments, NGOs and academicians working with disabled persons in J&K State.
The group was addressed by the founder director of CBR Network, Dr Indumathi Rao. The consultation was organized to assess the need of developing a comprehensive policy for the welfare of the disabled people in the State to bring them in the forefront of the main stream development. It was decided to prepare a policy document on the basis of felt needs of the beneficiaries. The resource person proposed to enroll the people affected with disability which will guide in assessing the infrastructure needed to overcome this challenge.
Mamta Singh, was the chief guest of the event, which was attended by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ and representatives of the NGOs and academicians.
