CUJ hosts workshop on ‘Spirituality and Education’

JAMMU, Jan 10: The Office of Dean Students Welfare, Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, organized a workshop on “Spirituality and Education”.
The chief guest of the event was the 8th Choekyong Palga Rinpoche while Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, also graced the occasion. Parshotam Kumar Dadhichi, President, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, J&K; Dr Chhering Tandup, Ladakh Phanday, Convenor Jammu, were also present in the event.
In his address, the 8th Choekyong Palga Rinpoche emphasized that we need to balance our academic education and spirituality. He further motivated the audience to practice meditation and peaceful ways to make our life happy. He also shared his deep concern towards increasing suicidal cases, drug abuse and depression.
After that question and answers session was also done where the faculty and the students interacted with Palga Rinpoche.
Prof Sanjeev Jain, in his address, said that integration of science, education and spirituality is a roadmap for youth towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
Parshotam Kumar Dadhichi talked about the role of spirituality in education.
Earlier, the welcome address was given by Dr Ritu Bakshi, Dean student’s Welfare, CUJ. Paramjeet gave introduction of Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa organization and informed that it is working on Seva, Sanskar and Ekta. The NGO is committed to providing health care centres in far flung areas, telepathy, mental health programmes and perseverance of national integration.
As a mandate of Viksit Bharat@2047, a video showcasing the road map of Viksit Bharat was also played.
Dr Chhering Tandup, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, Convener Jammu, presented a formal vote of thanks. Many participants from different disciplines attended the mega event.
