JAMMU, Mar 4: Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with Blood Transfusion and Haematology Department GMC, Jammu, organized ‘Blood Donation Camp’ in the University campus.
The camp was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof Sanjeev Jain. He said that in India every year about 1.50 lakh lives are lost due to road accidents and most of them are caused due to excess blood loss, hence, everybody should donate blood at least once in a year to save precious lives.
Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar CUJ, also visited the camp and praised the students for noble cause. A great enthusiasm was observed among students for blood donation registration.
Dr Meena Sidhu, Head Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine and Immuno haematology; Dr Neeti Dutt, Medical Officer along with GMC team supervised the blood donation activities wherein, more than 58 units of blood were collected by the department for blood bank.
The camp was organized by Dr Vijayata Puri, Senior Medical Officer CUJ. The paramedical staff of the health centre were also present.
