JAMMU, Mar 27: The Centre for Comparative Religions and Civilizations (CCRC), Central University of Jammu, organized a national conference on the theme “Geo- Cultural Identity of Sapt-Sindhu Region” (on the basis of Indian Literary Sources) in the university, here today.
More than thirty researchers from different educational institutions from all over India presented their research papers in the conference, which was organized in the hybrid mode.
Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, presided over the inaugural session.
Prof Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, former Vice Chancellor, Central University of Himachal, delivered the key-note address. He explained almost every aspect of Sapt-Sindhu Region.
Padma Shri Prof Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, gave a special lecture on Sapt-Sindhu Region on the basis of Rigveda and Gurubani sources.
Prof Niranjna Bhandari, Director CCRC, presented a formal welcome address while Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar Central University of Jammu, presented a vote of thanks.
Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, Convener of the conference, spoke about the theme of the conference. Narottam Kushwaha, Research scholar, conducted the stage.
President of Wider Association of Vedic Study, Prof Shashi Tiwari presented a broad view of Sapt-Sindhu culture.
Faculty members of CCRC- Dr Arvind Rituraj, Dr Vikas Singh, Dr Ashwani Kumar, Dr Amita Gupta and Dr G V Snigdha Raj coordinated and chaired technical sessions. Research scholars and students of CCRC Salma Javid, Naresh, Rohit, Arpit, Sahil, Sachin, Deewanshu, Aman, Vishal,Aditi were present.
