Cultural Academy releases Kashmiri book ‘Dewan-e-Veer’

JAMMU, May 16: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today released a Kashmiri book ‘Dewan-e-Veer’ written by Somnath Bhatt Veer, in a simple but impressive function held here at KL Saigal Hall.
The book was released by Padamshree Moti Lal Kemmu in association with Prof Hira Lal Misri, Krishan Lal Langu, BN Bataab, Somnath Veer, Aseer Kishtwari and Dr Sudhir Mahajan.
The programme started with the welcome address delivered by Dr Sudhir Mahajan, who highlighted the activities of the Academy to be undertaken in near future and disclosed that three days folk festival will be held at Mubarak Mandi, in the end of this month.
A detailed paper (written by Ghulam Nabi Aatish) on the book was also presented by a veteran writer Pyare Hatash, which was appreciated by all and sundry.
Chief guest, Padamshree Moti Lal Kemmu, congratulated Somnath Bhatt Veer for writing the book and thanked the Academy for giving him an opportunity to be a part of the function.
Prof Misri in his presidential address said that the book will prove beneficial for the upcoming generation and shall be an addition in the treasure of Kashmiri Literature.
Sharing his experience with the gathering, Somnath Bhatt Veer threw light on his book and also sang a song out of this publication.
PK Raina, a well known Kashmiri Litterateur conducted the proceedings of the programme while the vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri.
