JAMMU, Mar 25: A series of cultural events being organised by Samooh Theatre here today concluded at K.L Saigal Hall.
Nazir Ahmed Laway, ex-MP presided over the function while Kavinder Gupta, former Dy. CM was the chief guest while Sohail Kazmi, Usha Kher, Dy.SP and Vimal Manchanda, president Media Federation graced the occasion as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that Samooh Theatre group is doing a good job by organising cultural events in districts of Rajouri, Reasi and Jammu and hoped that the group will remain active for promoting regional and national culture as well.
Sohail Kazmi said that the theatre group also contributed in literary field by recently publishing a book on Cultural Heritage of Jammu.
Prominent poets Kewal Kumar Kewal, Randhir Singh Raipuria and Bodh Raj were felicitated on this occasion for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields.
Ramesh Kumar, Rohit Bains, Rajinder Gupta, Janak Raj, Rajesh Gupta, Kamal Chandpuri, Sanjay Raina, Abhilasha Koul and Neha Sharma were felicitated for their contributions in social and cultural fields.
A short play ‘Fit India’ was also staged by Ravinder Sharma on this occasion.
Earlier Anita Chand Puri, general secretary Samooh Theatre delivered welcome address while Dr. Kamal Sharma delivered vote of thanks.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, prominent theatre Actor/Director.?
