Cultural festival takes off at Reasi

REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning today emphasized the need for preservation and promotion of local cultural heritage, folk art and music for future generations.

The Minister was addressing a huge gathering after inauguration of Reasi Cultural Festival   organized by Salal Power Project in collaboration with district administration Reasi.  The festival featured scintillating performances   Dogri folk music like Karks and Bhaaks, Kud which is very popular in hilly areas of Bakkal, Bomag, Khani kote, Dhanour, Thuroo, Jamaslan, Chillad, Mulas, Sarh etc.

Third performance was a blend of   Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Kashmiri, Bhaderwahi and Ladhakhi culture which lasted for one hour and   mesmerized the audience.  The programme was coordinated by Natrang director, Balwant Thakur. A thematic skit was also staged on the occasion.

The Minister appreciated the role of Natrang Jammu for presenting historic cultural shows across the world.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, SSP Tahir Bhat and other senior officers from civil, police and NHPC besides huge local gathering were present on the occasion.

Executive Director NHPC Jammu thanked   Natrang Director and his artists for scintillating    performances.

The artists who took part in the Culture Festival were Neeraj Kant, Mohammad Yaseen, Shazia Batool, Suny Mujoo, Nikhil Manhas, Ankush Bhasin, Jyoti Kumari, Bindia, Saloni Verma, Geetanjli Khajuria, Sadvi Verma, Brijesh Sharma, Rishav Sharma, Mihir Gujral, Mahikshit Singh, Rajat Salgotra, Bhisham Gupta, Akshit Koul, Ashu Kotwal, Simran Kour, Goutam Sarma, Rakesh Kumar Kona.
