REASI, Oct 19: A cultural heritage show was organized by Triple “A” Performing Arts at Nou Devian, Dara Baba, Sulla Park tourist spot, here. The event was financially supported by Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishan Singh, Sarpanch said that this scintillating programme has created a history for being the first ever cultural event which received overwhelming response from audience including pilgrims visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine at Katra, Nou Devian, Dara Baba Banda Bhadur, Sulla Park.
“During the show, the artists showcased the varied of dance traditions of the J&K like Kud, Jagrana Gojjari folk forms”, he added.
On the occasion, a ritual dance was performed in honour of deities.
Kud dance was presented by Puri Singh and party and Bhakhan was presented by Sohan Lal and Party, Gujjari folk song was performed by Shoket and party and Zubada Begum and party.
Anam Khan, Event Director said that this unique cultural show was focused on Jammu’s traditional folk dances, besides showcasing Dogri, Gojari and Pahari cultures. For the first-time, professional approach has gone into creating this unique show, she said, adding that each dance presentation, despite being different from the other in rhythm and pace was artistically blended with each other so as to present their wonderful harmony and co-relation.
