Cultural prog organized in memory of Dr J R Sharma

JAMMU, Mar 28: Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir (SSKM) today organized a cultural programme in the memory of  late Dr J R Sharma at K L Saigal Hall on the eve of Ramnavmi here today.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Soujanya Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Sanjay Mahey,  former chairman Health and Sanitation, JMC and  BJP leader was also present on the occasion.  Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir,  is one of the oldest institutions of  J&K established in 1949, founded by late Dr J R Sharma.
Ravi Sharma welcomed the guests and said that this organization  is the oldest institute in the State working dedicatedly to promote music in State. He further threw light on the programme ‘Chand Sitare Chhoone Do’ and said this is the third season of ‘Chand Sitare Chhoone Do’ a folk music concert for providing a platform.
Cultural programme started with Saraswati Vandana which was composed by Ravi Sharma and other folk items were performed by the artists such as Locca Gharoo, Gori Da Chita Laga, Pal Bhar Bay Jana, Prabhu More etc.
The  artists who performed include Anjali Sharma, Ekta, Manjeet Kour, Sunandhini, Namrata, Shruti, Anjali, Omika, Vanshika, Aakash, Amrit Pal, Sanvi, Akshit, Sanchita, Urvashi, Harshit, Lovish, Rohit and Pradeep.
The artists who performed during the concert were Kamal Sharma (renowned) Dholak player of State, Padam Kalotra (Tabla), Rohit Sharma (Harmonium), Sumit Sharma (Guitar),  Vijay Sharma (composer) ex-music composer (Information Deptt). Vijay Atri presented vote of thanks.
