Curfew continues in Zanskar

SRINAGAR, Oct 24:
Indefinite curfew imposed in Padam valley in Zanskar in Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir continued without any relaxation since yesterday.
The situation is well under control, official sources said, adding restrictions continued as a precautionary measure to prevent any law and order problem.
Senior civil and police officials are assessing the situation and decision to relax the curfew restrictions will be taken only after considering the overall situation.
Curfew was imposed yesterday following some tension between two communities in Padam Zanksar for the last few days after some members of a community converted to another religion.
Members of one community migrated to Zanskar town because of tense situation.
However, there was fresh tension between two communities today forcing authorities to impose curfew . (UNI)
