RAJOURI, Sept 19: The bordering township of Rajouri remained incident free during nine hour curfew relaxation while the District Administration has decided to lift day curfew from tomorrow.
Official sources said that since the Rajouiri town is fast returning to normalcy after violence on September 14, the District Administration has decided to give relaxation in curfew in the town from 7 am to 7 pm tomorrow. All the educational institutional which remained closed since last Wednesday will function from tomorrow.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat told the Excelsior that Rajouri town remained peaceful during nine hour relaxation in curfew today. The market also remained open. In view of the improvement, the curfew relaxation will be from 7 am onwards. He said the schools/ colleges will operate normally in Rajouri town from Tuesday onwards.
Meanwhile, Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Choudhary and MLC Vibodh Gupta met the traders from minority community and appealed them to open the shops. They also assured that people whose property has been damaged will get compensation shortly. They also met the members of the other community and listened to their grievances. They appealed people in general to maintain peace and communal harmony.
